About CALVERUNI
Our Patterns
Original cobalt patterns from the rims of plates, worn as jewellery, with a porcelain dish for each one.
Off the plate
CALVERUNI began with a simple question: what would it look like to wear the pattern from a plate? The cobalt-on-white language of the dinner table, a gold rim, a fine blue line, a border that goes all the way round, is one of the most familiar decorations there is. We wanted to take it off the table and make it into something you can put on in the morning.
So every piece is a small plate of its own: a gold-plated stainless steel frame where the gold rim would be, and white enamel with a cobalt pattern where the porcelain would be.

Four patterns, all our own
We draw our own patterns. They are not taken from any maker’s archive and they are not the famous blue-and-white designs you may already know. There are four families:
- No. 01 Spray – a single flowering branch with five-petal blossoms, two buds and slender leaves.
- No. 02 Bird – a small round songbird, perched on a twig or out in flight.
- No. 03 Wave – stacked tide lines, rings of ripple and a scalloped edge.
- No. 04 Lattice – the geometric border from the rim of a plate, with a dot at every crossing.

What it is made of
We would rather tell you exactly what you are buying than use words that sound nicer:
- Frames and fittings: 316L stainless steel with 18K gold plating. It is gold-plated, not solid gold.
- The pattern: cobalt and white enamel.
- Dishes: glazed porcelain with a gold-colour rim, made for keeping jewellery, not for food.
Our jewellery is made for us by a specialist jewellery manufacturer to our designs, and the dishes by a porcelain workshop. Every piece page lists its size in millimetres and its weight in grams, so you know how it will sit before it arrives.
One dish, one pair
Each pattern has a porcelain trinket dish with the same drawing. When you take your earrings off at night, they go back onto the pattern they came from. Together, a pair and its dish make a gift, which is why we also put them in a cobalt box as gift sets.
