Care, Materials & Sizing
What each piece is made of, how to look after enamel and porcelain, and UK / EU ring sizes.
What our pieces are made of
| Part | Material |
|---|---|
| Frames, hoops, ear fittings, chains, clasps, ring bands, clips | 316L stainless steel with 18K gold plating |
| Pattern | Cobalt and white enamel |
| Trinket dishes | Glazed porcelain with cobalt decoration and a gold-colour rim |
Our jewellery is gold-plated, not solid gold. 316L stainless steel contains nickel. We do not describe our jewellery as nickel-free or hypoallergenic. If you know that you react to nickel, please contact us before buying.
Caring for enamel jewellery
- Put your jewellery on after perfume, hairspray and lotions, and take it off before swimming, showering, exercise and sleep.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Do not use polishing cloths with chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners or jewellery dips.
- Enamel is glass-hard but can chip if knocked against something hard. Store each piece on its own, on its dish or in its pouch.
- Gold plating wears gradually with everyday use. Taking care as above helps it last longer.
Caring for porcelain dishes
Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth. Our dishes are for decoration and for keeping jewellery and small things. They are not intended for food or drink and should not go in the dishwasher, microwave or oven.
Ring sizes
Our rings come in UK sizes J to Q. Find the inside diameter of a ring that fits the finger you want to wear it on, then choose the size closest to it.
| UK size | EU size | Inside diameter | Inside circumference |
|---|---|---|---|
| J | 49 | 15.6 mm | 49.0 mm |
| K | 51 | 16.1 mm | 50.6 mm |
| L | 52 | 16.5 mm | 51.8 mm |
| M | 53 | 16.9 mm | 53.1 mm |
| N | 54 | 17.3 mm | 54.4 mm |
| O | 56 | 17.7 mm | 55.7 mm |
| P | 57 | 18.1 mm | 57.0 mm |
| Q | 58 | 18.5 mm | 58.3 mm |
Wide bands such as the Lattice Ring feel snugger than thin ones; if you are between sizes, choose the larger size for a wide band.
Necklace and earring sizes
Necklace chains are 45 cm with a 5 cm extender (the Trellis Disc is 50 cm + 5 cm). A 45 cm chain sits at the collarbone on most people. Every earring page gives the size of the drop or hoop in millimetres and the weight of the pair.
